Women on Mission Minutes

October (Monday, October 10, 2011)

Host: Donna Shimfessel, held at the church.

Numbers Present: 9 (Melissa, Donna, Monica, Dawn, Jamie, Patsy, Edee, Bonnie, Cynthia)

Mission Study: Jamie

Prayer Calendar: Melissa, Melissa led prayer!

Treasurer Report: $299.88. $50 was given to the Eliza Broadus offering. We will be closing our checking account & keeping our funds in the safe due to incurring costs to keep the account open.

Minutes from last meeting: Minutes from last meeting were not read.

Card Sender Report: Around 7 cards were sent out last month. A list of names were given to Dawn for this month. If you know of anyone that needs a card sent please let Dawn know.

Gift Bag Ministries: Again, anyone who needs to be given a bag let Dawn know.

Community Service Center: Nothing new to report.

Old Business:  Those who are doing games for the Chili Supper are to arrive at the church by 4pm. Food will be served at 5pm, followed by games at 6pm.

We do not have time to order prizes from oriental trading. If anyone wants to pick up a few novelity items to give to the kids it would be appreciated.

Everything else remains the same.

Finally, Fall Festival/ Chili Supper/ October 22^nd/ starting w/ food @ 5pm/ Games @ 6pm

Patsy: 2 Pots Chili (1w/ beans, 1w/out)

Donna: 2 Pots Chili (1w/beans, 1w/out)

Sharon: 1 Pot Potato Soup

Cheri: 1 Pot Potato Soup

__________: 1 Pot White Chili

9 Total Pots of Chili or Soup

Other:

Patsy will check on Bowls, Plates, Napkins, forks, etc…

Edee will be checking on the cost of cotton candy & snow cones.

Hot Dogs & Buns: Monica Ingram & Cynthia Shimfessel

Peanut Butter Sandwiches: Edee Haggard

Pimento Cheese Sandwiches: Patsy & Jean

Drinks: Paula, Betsy, & Amy Taylor

Games:

Bonnie Hummel will be in charge of the cake walk. If you are interested in making a cake for the walk please see her.

Paula Smith will be in charge of face painting.

Jamie Carol will be handling the Duck Pond, Clown Toss, & other preschool games.

Donna Shimfessel will be handling Milk Bottles, Ale 8 Ring Toss

Sharon Kline will be handling tattoos!

Dawn Case will be handling the Sponge Toss!

New Business:

A luncheon to celebrate Pastor Appreciation will be held after services on Sunday October 30^th. Finger foods will be provided. Donna has started a menu cicrullating through email. If you would like to bring anything please let her know.

There will be a greeting card basket for anyone who wishes to bring a card for Bro. Jesse. The kids of the church will be part of a video shared at the luncheon.

This is a surprise…shhhhh!

We will be participating in the National Day of Prayer on November 7^th. More details to come.

We are also looking into hosting a wedding shower for Casey & Lindsay Harp. More details to come.

Our Christmas Project this year will be providing the remaining items needed for the Christmas Boxes. Please see Donna Shimfessel on what remaining items need provided. We will be planning a larger mission project after the first of the year!!!

Friday October 28^th @ 6pm is packing night for the boxes, come enjoy the fellowship!
